Rates: pay only for the hours you use

Most daycares charge a flat weekly rate, even when your child is home. Happy Elephant charges by the hour, so part-time schedules and shift work cost less.

Hourly rates

Your hourly rate depends on your child’s age. Call your center for today’s rates, or ask when you visit.

An example week

A preschooler in care from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, is 40 hours.

If the same child stays home on Friday, you pay for 32 hours, not 40.

What’s included

  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks every day

Families bring diapers, wipes and formula.

Help paying for child care: the Michigan CDC subsidy

Happy Elephant accepts Michigan’s Child Development and Care (CDC) subsidy at every center. CDC helps families who qualify pay for child care while they work or go to school.

  1. Apply on MI Bridges. Apply online at MI Bridges, the state’s site for benefits.
  2. Choose Happy Elephant as your provider. Let your center know you’re using CDC when you enroll.
  3. Learn more on the state’s CDC page, including who qualifies.

CDC families pay nothing on top of the subsidy, unless their child attends more days than CDC approves.

Refer a family, and you both get $100

The best advertising comes from families like yours. Introduce another family to Happy Elephant: once they enroll and attend for 10 days, your family and theirs each receive a $100 check. The 10 days don’t have to be in a row.

There’s no limit. Refer as many families as you like.
